Bleaching fun

Generally, I use black pen and single line when drawing or mark making during projects. However, after reminiscing about a drawing workshop I took part in during my first year of my textile BA, I remembered how much fun using bleach and drawing ink was, and what beautiful effects you can create! Such a simple technique, but such delicate outcomes can be achieved. Here are some photographs taken of my bird and feather inspired ink and bleach drawings. Enjoy!

I also added rock salt directly onto the drawing whilst the ink was still wet. Then, once the paper was dry, I removed the salt leaving a speckled and more organic feel to the finished drawing. TaDa!

Day at the seaside...

Spent a lovely day at Cromer Pier and got lots of beautiful photographs of the seagulls and the landscape even though it was a chilly afternoon!

Inspirational: Flights Of Fancy

During researching for my bird inspired project, I came across the most beautiful company called House of Hackney who produce high end wallpapers, fabrics, interior furnishings and also fashion prints. Flights Of Fancy is a beautiful collection influenced by a huge array of British birds. Loving them so much right now, check out there website!!

Productive day Photoshopping...

As part of my textile design BA I am specialising in printed textiles. Here is a collection of initial digital designs ready for sublimation printing. My current work is inspired by birds, looking at colour, shape, form and texture. For this unit I am focussing my ideas into sublimation printing combined with using foil and flock screen printed techniques.
