Day two of invigilation

As part of the NUA degree show, everyone is required to invigilate the show during the week it's running for, and today was my second day invigilating the textile and surface design rooms.

I have met some really wonderful people, who have given me some fantastic feedback about my work in the show and additionally, my portfolio. This is had me consider producing commissions for people who wish for them, in particular framed prints, original drawings and one off fabric designs due to the interest I was getting from people.

I haven't had much of a chance to take photographs of the show, however, here are a few sneak peeks! Enjoy!

NUA degree show - Business and professionals invitation

After three years studying at NUA I am pleased to say that I passed my degree with a 2:1. I'm so happy, and proud of myself!! All my hard work has paid off and can now say that I have a textile design degree.

On another positive note, this evening was the business and professionals invitation to the NUA degree show 2013. It was such a great experience speaking to various people from the design industry, and was so lovely to hear their feedback about the show, and in particular textiles and surface design.

I am really looking forward to tomorrow, as it's the friends and family private view, and have invited so many people to come and celebrate me graduating from NUA. If you are around the area, you should definitely come and visit as the show is free to visit and is open to the public Between June 26th and July 2nd.

Portfolio planning..

This week, i've not only been enjoying the beautiful sunshine but also preparing a portfolio of my work from my three years at NUA. So far I have just been looking through old sketchbook, pulling out pages that are successful ready to remount and present in a more professional way.

First year project: Stripes and checks project inspired by time

First year project: Knitwear project inspired by pomegranates

First year project: Recycling and reinvention

First year project: Inspired by moss

Second year project: Inspired by clocks and watches

It's amazing to see how much i've achieved since starting my textile degree at NUA in 2010, and how my drawing style and print techniques have developed over the three years.
